It’s official, they are into everything! And everything they find is the most interesting thing that ever existed and if, as a parent, I deem it unsafe, inappropriate or just plain not theirs to play with, it is the biggest heartbreak one could experience. At home, Jordan reacts to not getting she wants by crying then sitting on her tush and finally lowering herself carefully to the floor until she is laying on her back kicking her feet and sobbing. I walk away because I know that it ‘s not nice for her to see me laugh. Talia is much more convincing. The piercing scream, followed by the scrunched up face and real tears get us almost every time, we try to be strong, but this girl is good.
We have a few really great friends who have kids the same age and invite up often for play dates. While we love entertaining at our house, getting out and visiting friends at theirs is a special kind of fun. For my husband and I it’s quality time that we get to spend with relaxing friends and playing with our girls without the worry of cooking, Foror the girls the newness of a new space and more importantly a whole new set of toys is ultimate happiness. Between the two of them they explore and inspect every square inch of their new play space, which usually involves climbing as high as they can before we stop them and of course figuring out every toy inside and out. It’s fun to watch them getting excited over new things. When Jordan gets excited she says “waaaow” and shimmies her shoulders. Talia flips her hands up, shrugs her shoulders and babbles “Weetsu, weetsu.
All this playing usually tired the girls out pretty good. But it also does the same to us!
I never feel like I take enough videos of the girls and the ones that I do take I try to upload to YouTube as often as possible. If you are a YouTube subscriber you will be notified when I upload a new video but don’t put it on the blog.
Here’s a 60 second video I took of the girls in thier very own bouncy house. Yes, they have thier own personal bouncy house. Lucky for us the girls have three older cousins who 1) have pretty much grown out of everything that is fun and appropriate for toddlers and 2) have a mamma who is on a cleaning binge and keeps giving away all their stuff! This was one of those hand me downs I was happy to accept. If you feel like your little ones need their very own bouncy house you can get one here. We take it out and put it away each time we use it. Hopefully it will last for a bunch more cousins to come. It’s pretty heavy to move but doable and super easy to set up and put away.
but they really preferred their swings. We started using them regularly when they could hold their bodies straight enough to be fed bottles in the seats, then when they started eating solids they would sit in the chairs for snack time.
We took these bouncy seats on the plane to Israel. It fits perfectly in the bulkhead space in economy comfort and disassembled easily to fit in the overhead compartment. And now the girls have found another use for the noise making, vibrating, two position bouncy seat-it’s a jungle gym! The climb on it, lay in it, jump out if it, over and over until someone starts crying. Here’s a video of one of those times.
My husband is now in the business of buying every toy he sees that looks fun for the girls, I can’t blame him though, everything we get them they love. And since they are home all day the need new things to play with so they don’t get bored. He got this baby pool not for swimming, but for this exact purpose and these colorful balls and walla it’s like their own miniature Mc Donalds play place! They are loving their new ball pit, this is only a third of the balls we have so as they get bigger we will add more.
